To give a new pace to the development of Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi government is now emphasizing on further strengthening the railway network of the state. In this context, there is a big good news for lakhs of people of the state. Under the Ghughli-Anandnagar Railway Line Project, preparations for laying a new 52 km long railway line in Maharajganj have intensified, work on which has also been started.

This project will not only reduce the traffic problem, but will also connect many small towns and villages with the mainstream of development. The construction of this line is expected to directly benefit the population of about 10 lakhs in the area.

These will be 7 new stations

To make this 52 kilometer journey easier, 7 new railway stations will be constructed on the way. The list of these stations includes:

  1. Anandnagar
  2. Maharajganj
  3. persia elder
  4. Shikarpur
  5. nonia
  6. Pipra Munderi Halt

(Note: At present the names of 6 stations are given in the list, construction of another halt station is also proposed.)

Not only the station, 32 underpasses will also be built

This project is not limited to just laying tracks. Keeping in mind the convenience and safety of the people, 32 underpasses will also be constructed on this new railway line, so that the local people and vehicles do not face any problem in crossing the railway line. It is believed that during the construction work of this project, many new employment opportunities will be created at the local level.

When will the work be completed?

To launch this big project, land will be taken from a total of 53 villages, out of which the land acquisition work in 29 villages has almost been completed. Railways has appealed to those farmers whose land has been acquired to harvest their crops. Soon the work of installing notice boards on these lands and making announcement at the Gram Panchayat level will also be started.

  • When was it approved: This project was approved in the year 2023.
  • How much is the budget: A budget of ₹ 958.27 crore has been fixed to make it.
  • When will it be completed: Railways has set a target to complete this entire project by the year 2027.

Local people believe that the construction of this new railway line and stations will not only make their access to the cities easier, but will also give new wings to trade and development in their area, through which small towns will be able to directly connect with big metros.
