A grand parade was organized on Thursday on the occasion of 86th Foundation Day of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Neemuch district of Madhya Pradesh. On this occasion, Union Home Minister Amit Shah inspected the parade and paid tribute to the martyred soldiers.
The parade was held in memory of the establishment of CRPF, which is celebrated every year on 19 March. In fact, on the same day in 1950, the then Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel officially assigned the flag to this force. This year, the parade was held on 17 April, expanding the ceremony.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav was also present in the program. Significantly, Neemuch is the same place where ‘Crown Representative Police’ was established on 27 July 1939 during British rule. Later on 28 December 1949, it was renamed ‘Central Reserve Police Force’.
Strict stance on Naxalism
In his address, Home Minister Amit Shah said that when there is news of instability in any corner of the country and it is found that CRPF personnel are stationed there, they feel confident that the situation will come under control.
He said that the CRPF’s role has been important on every front, the fight against terrorism in the Kashmir Valley or to maintain peace in the northeastern states. Shah also claimed that Naxalism has now been limited to only four districts and Naxalism from the country will be completely abolished by 31 March 2026. He also added that the role of CRPF in this campaign would be decisive.
