Former Congress MLA Amba Prasad has made a scathing attack on the working style of the police and the state DGP in this matter. Amba Prasad, in her statement released through social media, has termed the investigation report presented by the police as completely ‘misleading’ and a ‘raw story’. He has alleged that the direction of the investigation is being diverted to protect the real culprits.
DGP advised to step down, serious questions raised
In her statement, Amba Prasad directly targeted the DGP and said that she was avoiding facing media questions in the press conference. He alleged that the police administration has completely failed to provide justice to the innocent girl of Vishnugadh. Amba raised the question whether under any political pressure the police had converted this heinous massacre into a ‘sacrificial ritual’? Describing the DGP as incompetent, she even advised him to resign from the post and challenged that she would soon hold a press conference to expose the claims of the police.
JMM and Congress attack: BJP accused of involvement
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) also took out massive rallies in Ranchi and Hazaribagh in protest against this massacre. JMM spokesperson Manoj Pandey and Congress leaders claimed that one of the accused arrested in this case has direct links with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The ruling coalition alleges that after the BJP leader’s involvement in the police revelations came to light, efforts are now being made to suppress the matter. However, BJP has completely rejected these allegations and called it a conspiracy to hide the government’s own failure and defame the party.
What is the police claim? Mother arrested on ‘sacrifice’ charges
Hazaribagh Police has made a sensational revelation in this case and arrested the mother of the deceased girl by making her the main accused. According to the police, the girl was murdered by strangulation as part of a ‘sacrificial ritual’. In this case, the police have also sent an alleged Tantrik Shanti Devi and a person named Bhim Ram to jail along with the mother. Police say that they have taken this action on the basis of solid evidence, but the sharp statements of Amba Prasad and the leaders of the ruling coalition have now put the entire investigation under doubt.
