The company has completely discontinued its popular Rs 189 plan. This plan is no longer available for recharge on Airtel’s website or mobile app.

What was available in the Rs 189 plan?

This plan of Rs 189 was very much liked among those users who needed less data and more calling. In this, unlimited calling on any network, total 1GB data and 300 SMS were available with a validity of 21 days.

Now what is the cheapest unlimited plan?

After the closure of Rs 189 plan, now Airtel’s cheapest unlimited calling plan has become Rs 199. This means that now to start unlimited benefits, customers will have to spend Rs 199 directly.

What will be available in the new entry-level plan of Rs 199?

With the increase in price, the company has also made some changes in validity and benefits. In this new introductory unlimited plan of Rs 199, users will get these benefits:

• Validity: 26 days (earlier it was 21 days)
• data: total 1GB
• Calling: Unlimited voice calling
• SMS: 300 sms

It is clear that the company has tried to justify the increase in price by increasing the validity by 5 days. This step has been taken at a time when there are reports of increase in tariff prices once again in the telecom industry.
