News India Live, Digital Desk: After conquering the electoral fort of Bihar, the spirits of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are high and now it has set its sights on the next biggest political arena, i.e. West Bengal. BJP has already geared up for the West Bengal Assembly elections to be held in 2026. This time BJP is working on a strategy which has the power to create a stir in the politics of Bengal directly through Bihar.
If reports are to be believed, BJP is preparing to field a big ‘army’ of its leaders and workers from Bihar in the electoral battle of Bengal. This is not just a simple election campaign, but part of a well-thought-out strategy.
After all, why are the leaders of Bihar being sent to Bengal?
The answer to this question lies in the geography and social equations of Bihar and Bengal. BJP’s biggest focus is on Bihar Seemanchal Is on the area. Seemanchal means those districts of Bihar which directly border West Bengal, like Katihar, Purnia, Araria and Kishanganj.
- Similar language and culture: The language, dialect and lifestyle in these border areas are quite similar. When the leaders of Bihar will campaign in these areas of Bengal, they will be able to easily connect with the local people.
- Similar social equations: The population equation (demography) of Seemanchal and adjacent areas of Bengal is also almost the same. The leaders of Seemanchal understand the political pulse here very well. BJP wants to take advantage of this understanding to strengthen its ground in Bengal.
The strategy is very clear
BJP’s plan is that workers and leaders of Seemanchal will be given the responsibility of the border districts of Bengal. By going there, he will not only promote the schemes of the Central Government, but will also work to strengthen the party at the booth level. This is just like taking the help of a strong neighbor to win elections in another state.
BJP has in the past also used workers from its strong states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat in elections in other states, and this strategy has been successful many times. After the recent victory in Bihar, the enthusiasm of the workers there is at its peak and the party now wants to use this enthusiasm and experience to make ‘Mission Bengal’ successful.
Now it will be interesting to see how much this ‘Bihari’ move of BJP can make a dent in Mamata Banerjee’s strong fort in Bengal.
