The latest case is from the capital Lucknow. Renowned Ram Storyteller Rajan Ji Maharaj Has claimed that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will very soon change the name of Lucknow to connect it with its ancient glory.

Recently, during a program, Rajan Ji Maharaj said that just as the Yogi government has given back the identity of Faizabad by making it ‘Ayodhya’ and Allahabad as ‘Prayagraj’, in the same way the name of Lucknow should also be changed.
What will be the new name?: According to Maharaj, Lucknow is named after Lakshman, younger brother of Lord Ram. ‘Laxmanpuri’ Or ‘Lakhanpuri’ Should be done.

Although, no official cabinet proposal has come forward yet regarding changing the name, but the old hints of CM Yogi Adityanath have always kept these speculations alive.

Opposition parties have reacted sharply to these discussions about changing the name. Leaders of SP and Congress say that instead of changing the name, the government should focus on the issues of unemployment, inflation and development. They argue that changing the name will not solve the city’s problems.
What is the process?
To change the name of any city, a proposal has to be passed from the state cabinet. After this it is sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) of the Central Government. The name can be officially changed only after receiving the ‘No Objection Certificate’ (NOC) from the Home Ministry.
