Mirzapur, 24 June (HS). Lalganj police arrested him from Lalganj town on Monday on the basis of a complaint received regarding hurting religious sentiments of people, spreading communalism and anarchy by circulating an edited video clip of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the social media platform Facebook.
Taking the case seriously, Superintendent of Police Abhinandan had directed the Lalganj Police Station Head under the leadership of Area Magistrate Lalganj to arrest the accused. On Monday, Sub-Inspector Bajrangbali Choubey collected electronic evidence and arrested the wanted accused Meraj Ahmed son of Madar Ahmed, resident of Lalganj town. Legal action was taken against the arrested accused as per rules and he was sent to jail.
