The administration has once again adopted a strict stance against the black trade of illegal and spurious liquor in Chatra district of Jharkhand. In Hunterganj police station area of the district, a joint team of excise department and local police launched a big campaign to break the morale of illegal liquor mafia. Under this action, the police conducted simultaneous raids in Genjana, Nawadih and Panari villages of Hunterganj. This sudden action created panic among the illegal liquor traders of the area.
The police has achieved huge success during this special operation. The team completely demolished more than half a dozen illegal liquor distilleries operating on the spot. Along with this, about 2000 kg of Java Mahua kept for making liquor was destroyed on the spot, so that it could not be used again.
As you can see in the picture above, police and excise department teams often recover huge quantities of bottled liquor and spirits in such operations. Similarly, in this latest action in Chatra, a large stock of fake foreign liquor has been seized.
The game of making fake foreign liquor was going on, two accused arrested
The biggest thing about this raid was that not only local Mahua liquor, but also the game of making fake foreign liquor in the name of branded companies was going on. The team of the excise department has recovered a huge quantity of fake foreign liquor and the raw material used in its preparation from the spot.

Mahua Liquor: About 180 liters of prepared Mahua liquor was seized.

Java Mahua: 2000 kg of Java Mahua kept soaked in drums for making liquor was destroyed.

Fake foreign liquor: 72 bottles bearing labels of different brands were recovered.

Chemicals and Ingredients: Large quantities of spirit, essence (flavor) and caramel (for coloring) were recovered.

Packaging Items: Fake labels and a large number of fake holograms meant to appear on genuine bottles were seized.
Confirming this entire matter, the Excise Superintendent said that the two main accused involved in this business have been arrested from the spot. The police are now strictly interrogating these accused to find out where else the strings of this racket are connected and in which areas they used to supply this spurious liquor. The administration says that such campaigns against illegal liquor in the area will continue in future also.
