A husband divorced his wife to become a transgender! A unique case that raises an unresolved question for society

Gwalior: A case has come up in the Gwalior Family Court of Madhya Pradesh that has sparked a new debate on the issue of social beliefs, family structure and gender identity. The case is of a young man from Tonk district of Rajasthan. He has approached the court to divorce his wife. The reason for divorce is also very shocking. The young man mentally considers himself a woman and is now going to become transgender through medical process.

According to the information, the young man married a young woman from Gwalior on 21 November 2019. The wedding took place in Gwalior according to traditional customs. In the first few months, the relationship between husband and wife started deteriorating. The differences increased so much that wife Rajni had to return to her maternal home.

Rajni gave birth to a son on 2 November 2021. But the distance in the relationship remained the same. From 31 December 2023, the wife started living completely different from her husband with her son. After a long conversation and dispute between the two, the matter has now reached the family court. Where both of them have filed a divorce application with mutual consent.

According to lawyer Dharmendra Sharma, a consent letter has been registered between the husband and wife, in which it has been decided that the husband will give three lakh rupees to the wife and will return the jewelry and other items given during the wedding. He said that all this has been decided by mutual consent and now the legal process is going on.

But the most different and shocking thing in this case is that the young man has clearly stated in the court that he is gay and is preparing to become transgender in the coming days. For this, he has also said that he will get treatment and wants to live as a woman in the society.

Medical experts believe that this condition may be related to “gender identity disorder”. It is a psychological condition in which the person has different physical penis and psychological identity. Such people often get married due to social pressures, but keep struggling with internal problems throughout their life. In this case, the young man told his problem after some time.

Now there are various types of discussions about this incident. At the same time, a new crisis has come in front of the young man’s wife and his family. The woman is saying that if there was a problem, then it should have been told before marriage and should not have been married.
