Baba Ramdev trapped again, case of declaring Patanjali toothpaste as vegetarian product in Delhi High Court | News India

Baba Ramdev Dant Manjan Case: Baba Ramdev is in trouble once again. His troubles are increasing one after the other. Patanjali's toothpaste is sold as vegetarian. However, a complaint has been filed against it as it is considered non-vegetarian. In view of that complaint, a notice has been published by the Delhi High Court. A bench of Justice Sanjeev Narula issued notice to Patanjali, Divya Pharmacy, Baba Ramdev, Central Government and Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. It will be heard in November.

Who complained?

This complaint has been filed by lawyer Yatin Sharma. After Yatin Sharma's complaint, lawyers Swapnil Chaudhary and Prashant Gupta are fighting his case. He told that a green dot is visible on the packet of Divya Dantmanjan. Green dot means vegetarian, but fish residues have been found in this toothpaste. This residue falls under the category of non-vegetarians. The complaint also states that according to the law there is no need to classify the medicine into vegetarian or non-vegetarian category. However, there is a green dot on this toothpaste which is being termed as a misbrand according to the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.

The complaint also states that the religious sentiments of the complainant and his family have been hurt. Since they believe in religion, they consume only vegetarian food. However, when they came to know that fish extracts were found in this toothpaste, their feelings were hurt. It uses extracts found in fish. The complaint questions the employees who gave the license to the dentist. Along with this, a fine has also been demanded on the erring official. The complaint also states that the toothpaste is also described as vegetarian on Patanjali's official website.
