Earlier on July 19, Special Judge Rakesh Siyal had reserved the verdict in the case. Three people died in this case. A witness alleged that on November 1, 1984, the titular ambassador got out of a car in front of Gurdwara Pul Bangash and incited the mob to kill Sikhs.

The CBI said in its chargesheet that Jagdish Tytler, who was present in the Azad Market area of ​​Pul Bangash Gurdwara during the Sikh riots, incited the mob, following which the gurdwara was set on fire. Thakur Singh, Badal Singh and Guru Charan Singh were killed in this violence. The CBI charged Tytler under sections 147 (rioting), 109 (incitement) and 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
