Jaipur, August 29 (HS). The SDRF team recovered the body of a 27-year-old worker buried in a pit being dug for water harvesting at Viraj Residency near Rangoli Garden in Police Station Karni Vihar area and handed it over to the administration.

SDRF Commandant Rajendra Singh Sisodia informed that on Thursday afternoon, information was received from the District Collectorate Control Room Jaipur that a worker was buried while digging a pit for water harvesting at Viraj Residency near Rangoli Garden located in Police Station Karni Vihar. On receiving the information, the rescue team of SDRF H Company Jaipur stationed at Ghatgate was dispatched for disaster relief and rescue. The rescue team in-charge reached the spot with a team of ten soldiers and disaster relief equipment. The team commander took stock of the situation and informed that a worker was buried about twenty feet below the soil due to soil collapse while laying a pipe in the pit dug for water harvesting.

A lot of efforts were made by the local administration and the civil defense team to rescue the person. But success has not been achieved yet. The SDRF Rajasthan team started the rescue operation. First of all, the soil was removed by the local administration with the help of a JCB machine. After that, with the help of the SDRF team and workers, the soil was taken out by digging a well in the pit with the help of a three feet wide pipe. After tireless and hard work, after digging 20-25 feet, the body of Birbal Chaudhary, resident of village Mundota Sehrawat Kalwad Jaipur, buried in the soil, was taken out by the rescue team and handed over to the local administration.
