Kathmandu, August 18 (HS). Preparations are being made for Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's visit to India in the first week of September. He has expressed his desire to visit India for his first foreign visit after becoming Prime Minister for the fourth time.

Recently, during his Nepal visit, India's Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri met Prime Minister Oli and gave him a formal letter of visit from the Indian Prime Minister. Since then, preparations have been started for Oli's Delhi visit. However, earlier his visit was scheduled for 4-6 September in Bangkok, Thailand, where he was to attend the summit of BIMSTEC countries.

Prime Minister Oli was scheduled to have a sideline meeting with the Indian Prime Minister here in Bangkok. But after the recent change of power in Thailand and the coup in Bangladesh, there is every possibility of the BIMSTEC conference to be postponed in Bangkok. Nepal has requested Oli to visit India on the same date. To which, it has been informed that a positive response will be received from India as well. Therefore, there is every possibility of Oli visiting India in the first week of September.

Foreign Minister's visit begins today
