New Delhi, March 02 (HS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also present development schemes today (Saturday), on the last day of his two-day visit to Jharkhand, West Bengal and Bihar. The Prime Minister reached West Bengal yesterday after handing over development schemes worth crores of rupees to Jharkhand. The details of Prime Minister Modi's today's program have been shared by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on its X handle. Earlier on February 29, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) released detailed information about the Prime Minister's visit. The Prime Minister will complete his tour of West Bengal today and reach Bihar in the last phase.
According to BJP, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate development projects in Nadia, Krishnanagar, West Bengal at 10:30 am today. After 45 minutes he will address a public meeting here. According to the Press Information Bureau, in Krishnanagar, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate, inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of many development projects related to sectors like power, rail and roads. The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of Raghunathpur Thermal Power Station Phase-II (2×660 MW) located at Raghunathpur in Purulia district. This coal based thermal power project of Damodar Valley Corporation uses highly efficient supercritical technology. The new plant will be a step towards strengthening the energy security of the country.
Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) system of Units 7 and 8 of Mejia Thermal Power Station. Developed at a cost of approximately Rs 650 crore, the FGD system will remove sulfur dioxide from flue gases and produce clean flue gas and gypsum, which can be used in the cement industry.
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the four-lane road project of Farakka-Raiganj section of NH-12 (100 km). Developed at a cost of approximately Rs 1986 crore, the project will reduce traffic congestion, improve connectivity and contribute to the socio-economic development of North Bengal and the North Eastern region.
According to PIB, the Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation four rail projects worth more than Rs 940 crore in West Bengal. These include Damodar-Mohishila railway line doubling project, third line between Rampurhat and Murarai, Bazarsau-Azimganj railway line doubling and new line connecting Azimganj-Murshidabad.
According to the X handle of the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Prime Minister will then reach Aurangabad in Bihar at 2:30 pm. He will be in Begusarai at 5.15 pm. According to PIB, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several development projects worth more than Rs 21,400 crore in Aurangabad. In view of strengthening the National Highway network in Bihar, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several National Highway projects worth more than Rs 18,100 crore. The projects to be inaugurated include 63.4 km long two-lane metalled Jaynagar-Narhiya section of NH-227, six-lane stretch of Patna Ring Road from Kanhauli to Ramnagar on NH-131G, 3.2 km parallel to the existing flyover in Kishanganj city. km long second flyover, 47 km long Bakhtiyarpur-Rajauli four-laning project, and four-laning of the 55 km-long Arrah-Paria section of NH-319.
Apart from this, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone of six national highway projects, which include 55 km long four-lane controlled access greenfield national highway from Amas to village Shivrampur, 54 km long four-lane controlled access greenfield national highway from Shivrampur to Ramnagar, village Kalyanpur. 47 km long four-lane controlled access greenfield national highway from Balbhadarpur to village Balbhadarpur, 42 km long four-lane controlled access greenfield national highway from Balbhadarpur to Bela Nawada, 25 km long four-lane elevated corridor from Danapur-Bihta section and Bihta. -Addition of four lane carriageway from the existing two lane of Koilwar section.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also lay the foundation stone of a six-lane bridge over the river Ganga, which will be developed as a part of the Patna Ring Road. This bridge will be one of the longest river bridges in the country. This project will reduce traffic congestion in Patna city and provide faster and better connectivity between the northern and southern parts of Bihar, thereby promoting socio-economic development of the entire region. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate twelve projects developed at a cost of about Rs 2,190 crore under Namami Gange in Bihar. The projects include sewage treatment plants at Saidpur and Pahari, sewerage network for Saidpur, Beur, Pahari Zone IVA, sewerage system with sewer network at Karmalichak, sewerage scheme in Pahari Zone-V, and Barh, Chhapra, Naugachhia, Sultanganj and Sonepur cities. Includes interception, diversion and sewage treatment plants. These projects will ensure treatment of waste water before being released into river Ganga at multiple locations, thereby promoting the cleanliness of the river and benefiting the people of the area.
Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone of Unity Mall in Patna. The project, to be constructed at a cost of over Rs 200 crore, is envisioned as a state-of-the-art facility. There will be 36 big stalls for various and 38 small stalls for each district of Bihar. Unity Mall will promote local manufacturing and One District One Product, Geographical Indication (GI) products and handicraft products from Bihar and India. The project will have significant socio-economic benefits in terms of employment generation, infrastructure development and exports from the state.
The Prime Minister will also dedicate to the nation three railway projects in Bihar, including the doubling project of Patliputra to Pehelja railway line, a 26 km long new railway line between Bandhua-Paimar and a MEMU shed at Gaya. The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of Ara Bypass Rail Line.
In the presence of Prime Minister Modi, Begusarai will witness an important boost to the energy sector in the country in the evening. The Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several oil and gas projects worth approximately Rs 1.48 lakh crore. These projects are spread across the KG Basin as well as in various states across the country such as Bihar, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab and Karnataka. The Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation the 'First Oil' from KG Basin and flag off the first crude oil tanker from ONGC Krishna Godavari Deepwater Project. Extracting 'First Oil' from KG Basin is a historic achievement in India's energy sector, which will significantly reduce our dependence on energy imports. The project will also usher in a new era in India's energy sector, strengthening energy security and boosting economic resilience. Apart from this, oil and gas sector projects worth about Rs 14,000 crore will be started in Bihar.
Other important oil and gas projects being undertaken across the country include expansion of Panipat Refinery and Petrochemical Complex in Haryana, 3-G Ethanol Plant and Catalyst Plant at Panipat Refinery, Visakh Refinery Modernization Project (VRMP) in Andhra Pradesh, City Fazilka, Ganganagar and Hanumangarh districts of Punjab have been included in the scope of the Gas Distribution Network Project. Similarly, new POL Depot in Gulbarga Karnataka, Mumbai High North Redevelopment Phase-IV in Maharashtra etc. are also included in this. The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of the Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy (IIPE) in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
The Prime Minister will inaugurate the Hindustan Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited (HURL) fertilizer plant in Barauni. Developed at a cost of more than Rs 9500 crore, this plant will provide urea to farmers at affordable rates and increase their productivity and financial stability. This will be the fourth fertilizer plant to be restarted in the country. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several railway projects worth approximately Rs 3917 crore. The Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation 'Bharat Pashudhan' – a digital database for livestock in the country. Apart from this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also launch '1962 Farmers App'. It is an app that records all the data and information present under 'Bharat Livestock' database, which can be used by farmers.
