Neeraj Chopra has reached the final of the men's javelin throw event at the Paris Olympics. Neeraj was placed in Group B, where he qualified for the final by throwing 89.34 meters in his first attempt. The mark for direct qualification to the final was set at 84 meters. Apart from Neeraj, Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem has also entered the final by throwing 86.59 meters.
Neeraj Chopra's best throw this season was 88.36 meters, which he achieved in the Doha Diamond League 2024. That is, he has broken his own record of the best throw of the season by covering a distance of 89.34 meters in the qualification round of Paris Olympics 2024.

Neeraj Chopra topped both the groups in the qualification round. He finished first by throwing the javelin 89.34 meters, followed by Anderson Peters of Grenada who threw 88.63 meters. Julian Weber of Germany was in third place, who threw the javelin up to 87.76 meters. While Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan finished fourth overall with a distance of 86.59 meters.
A minimum of 12 athletes qualify for the final of the javelin throw event. A total of 7 players crossed the 84m mark in the qualification round and qualified directly for the final. After these 7 athletes, five athletes with the best throw will enter the final. Neeraj Chopra will now be seen in action for the gold medal in the final on August 8. Kishore, the second Indian athlete in the qualification round, had his best throw of 80.73m in the qualification round, but it proved insufficient to take him to the final.
