There have been separate incidents of landslides after heavy rains in Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu, in which three people have died. An immediate rescue operation was launched after receiving reports of several people being trapped under the house in the landslide that occurred on Monday night, the bodies were removed from under the debris on Tuesday.

The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert of heavy to very heavy rains in Madhya Maharashtra from August 1 to August 3, in coastal Karnataka from July 31 to August 1, in Konkan and Goa from July 30 to August 3, in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh from August 1 to August 3, in Uttarakhand from July 30 to August 1, while in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, an orange alert has been issued from July 31 to August 1.

Seven killed due to lightning in Jharkhand
