Salary of Punjab Government Employees: The government has increased the salary of Punjab employees by Rs 163. Employees got angry over the low salary hike and took to the streets against the government. Employees have accused the government of playing an unpleasant joke with the employees by increasing the salary by Rs 163.
The state government has increased the salary of temporary employees of Nangal Nagar Parishad by Rs 163 per month. Protests have started against this decision of the government. On Monday, a protest rally was taken out under the leadership of Nangal Nangal President Kaushal Kumar.
After this, a demand letter was also sent to the Chief Minister of Punjab in the name of Municipal Council DC Rupnagar through SDM Nangal Anamjot Kaur, Executive Officer of Labor Department. The employees expressed their displeasure over the increased salary and demanded salary on the lines of Chandigarh and Haryana.
Union leader Kaushal Kumar said that the Punjab government has made a mockery of the temporary employees of the Municipal Council by increasing their salary by only Rs 163 per month. He said that the Municipal Council employees had a lot of expectations from the AAP government of Punjab, but they seem to be completely disappointed.
To take care of their family expenses and children's education, temporary employees should be paid at least Rs 20,000. Temporary employees are currently getting a salary of Rs 10,000. With such a low salary, they cannot even manage their household expenses.
