Dehradun, July 17 (HS). Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) President Ajendra Ajay rejected the allegations of Jyotirmath Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati in which he claimed that 228 kg of gold was stolen from the Kedarnath temple. Ajendra Ajay said that Swami's statement on Kedarnath temple is very unfortunate. The President of Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee said that I respect Swami Avimukteshwaranand, but he keeps holding press conferences all day long. Creating controversy, spreading sensation and staying in the news is Swami Avimukteshwaranand's habit.
Ajendra alleged that Swami Avimukteshwarananda's remarks on Kedarnath were part of the Congress agenda and urged the Swami to stop insulting the dignity of the Kedarnath temple.
Swami Avimukteshwarananda, while speaking on the issue of Kedarnath temple in Delhi, had claimed that there has been a gold scam in the existing Kedarnath temple, which has not been investigated. He said that after the scam there, now Kedarnath will be built in Delhi and then another scam will happen.
Temple committee chairman Ajendra said these claims are baseless and if Swami Avimukteshwarananda has any proof he should go through the legal route instead of creating controversy. “I urge him and also challenge him to bring out the facts and proof. He should go to the authorities, present the proof and demand an inquiry. If he does not trust any competent authority then he should approach the Supreme Court, High Court, file a PIL and demand an inquiry if he really has proof,” he said.
