Mumbai, July 17 (HS). The family of controversial trainee IAS officer Pooja Khedkar has removed the illegal construction on their bungalow in Baner area of Pune district after the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) pasted a notice. The PMC had said in the notice that if the family fails to remove the illegal construction within seven days, the PMC will remove it and recover the cost from them.
Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) official said on Wednesday that the Khedkar family had made an illegal construction of 60 feet length, 3 feet width and 2 feet height on the footpath near their bungalow in Baner area. PMC wanted to give notice to the bungalow to remove this illegal construction, but there was no one in the bungalow, so a notice was pasted outside the bungalow on July 13. In this notice, Khedkar's family was asked to remove the encroachment within seven days. The notice said that if the family failed to remove the illegal construction within seven days, PMC will remove it and recover the expenses from them. PMC official said that the time period given to the Khedkar family has not yet been completed, but today the Khedkar family has removed the illegal construction themselves.
It is noteworthy that Pooja Khedkar is in controversy for allegedly misusing disability and other backward class (OBC) quota to get a post in IAS. Apart from this, Pooja Khedkar has been accused of making unreasonable demands during her posting in Pune Collector's office. After this, Pooja Khedkar was transferred to Wasim district, but due to these allegations, Pooja Khedkar's IAS training has been stopped.
