Under the drinking water scheme of Rs 270 crore, 3 storage tanks of 80 MLD capacity will be built in Kotra, Vaishali Nagar and Lohagal in Ajmer.

Assembly Speaker Devnani first inspected Mor Sagar located in Muhami village on Sunday. Officials said that under the ERCP scheme, water from Chambal river will be brought to Bisalpur. From there, this water will be brought to Mor Sagar pond located in Muhami village. He instructed the officials to develop the capacity to store water for 2 years in Mor Sagar pond. If land has to be acquired for this, then proposals for the same should also be prepared. Officials should be proactive and prepare proposals. These proposals should be sent to the government through the Water Resources Minister and senior officials so that work can start soon in Ajmer too.

Officials informed that availability of water for drinking and irrigation has been ensured in the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project for 13 districts of Rajasthan. This scheme is an inter-state treaty between the Rajasthan government and the Madhya Pradesh government. Surplus water of Chambal River Basin, Kali Sindh River Sub-basin and Parvati River Sub-basin will be diverted by constructing three barrages namely Hanotiya Barrage, Ramgarh Barrage and Mahalpur Barrage. This additional water will be brought to Mor Sagar Muhaami of Ajmer via Lambaharisingh of Tonk district, filling Bisalpur Dam and Isarda Dam via Navnera Barrage Kota. By increasing the capacity of the dam, it will be possible to fulfill the drinking water requirement of Ajmer in future and it will be possible to provide water to other reservoirs of Ajmer as per availability and requirement. At present, renovation and repair work of this pond is being done. Work of strengthening the dam, repair of wasteweir and facewall is also being done. This will increase the strength and stability of the pond.
