Ranchi, July 11 (HS). BJP Sainik Cell's state convenor Colonel Sanjay Singh said that the false statement of opposition leader Rahul Gandhi about the ambitious scheme like Agniveer in the Indian Army is aimed at creating divisions in the army and misleading the youth who wish to become Agniveers.
Colonel Sanjay Singh said in a press conference held in the state office on Thursday that recently Rahul Gandhi has shamed the army and the government of the country in the eyes of other countries of the world by giving irresponsible and false statement in the Parliament, which is treason. He said that the result of politics in the country cannot be tolerated against the country. Agniveer who joins the army is given Rs. 4 lakh 76 thousand per year in the first year and Rs. 6 lakh 92 thousand in the fourth year and after four years, 25 percent are kept in the army itself. MOU has been done to ensure jobs for the rest in the state government, PSU and other places. He said that Rs. 11 lakh 71 thousand is also given for startup.
He said that Rahul Gandhi, after meeting the family of martyred Agniveer Ajay Singh in January, said in Parliament that neither the martyr received any respect nor the government gave any help to the martyr's family, such a false statement has been given. However, the government performed the last rites of the martyred Agniveer with military honours and has given one crore sixty five lakh rupees to his heir as per rules.
He said that after the Kargil war, the Indian Army had formed the Kargil War Commission 1999 to make its fighting force young, the result of which is Agniveer, whose inclusion in the army will reduce the proportional age of the soldiers of India from thirty years to twenty-six years, which will be the lowest in comparison to the proportional age of soldiers of other countries, which is currently the highest. He also talked about the implementation of such schemes in countries like China, USA etc. Colonel Anand Bhushan, Subedar Major Surishtha Kumar, former convener of the cell Ranjan Singh were also present in the press conference.
