Opposition attack

There was an uproar in the Lok Sabha after the leaders of the ruling coalition made statements on the issue of the Emergency imposed in 1975. President Draupadi Murmu also mentioned the Emergency imposed in 1975 in her address. The opposition had expressed displeasure on that issue.

Opposition leaders said the script of the President's address was provided by the government and was full of lies.

While addressing the joint session of Parliament after the formation of the 18th Lok Sabha, the President criticized the Emergency imposed in 1975. He said that when the Emergency was imposed, the country was in shock. But the country also achieved victory over such unconstitutional forces.

What did BJP do for those who went to jail during the Emergency? : Akhilesh

After the President's address, SP President Akhilesh Yadav said that what did the BJP do for those who were put in jail during the crisis? SP has given them respect and pension. He said that the ruling party calls the country the fifth largest economy. If yes, then why are so many youths unemployed in the country? Why is inflation not under control? Why is there an Agniveer scheme in the country?

There was nothing new in the speech: Congress

Congress leader Tariq Anwar said that there was nothing new in the President's address. He said that even after the crisis, elections were held several times in the country and BJP has lost them. They have nothing left to say.

Government provided the script: Trinamool

Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra said that the President read a script in his address which was provided by the central government. Moitra said that BJP leaders do not realize that they do not have a majority.

President's speech was full of lies: CPI

CPI (ML) member Sudama Prasad said that the President's address was full of lies. After listening to the President's address, it seemed that he was calling BJP a government with full majority. This is a coalition government. The President should have talked about the situation in Manipur. He said that the Emergency was declared in 1975 itself. At present, there is an undeclared emergency.
