Jammu, June 23 (HS). On the occasion of Sant Kabir's birthday, a religious ceremony was organized at the Sant Kabir Sabha of the town. Kabir Jayanti was celebrated under the leadership of President Ram Saran Bhagat. Thousands of people from the Bhagat community, including women and children, participated in the program. During this, the congregation sang bhajans and praised the glory of Sant Kabir.
After the satsang, a grand procession was taken out from the Kabir Sabha with band music and drums, which passed through Nirdosh Chowk, Bus Stand, Radha Chowk and concluded back at the Kabir Sabha. The tableau of Saint Kabir was the center of attraction for the spectators in the procession. Devotees walked behind the tableau, raising slogans in praise of Saint Kabir. Pradhan Ram Saran Bhagat said that Saint Kabir made every person of the society aware of faith and inspired them to follow goodness and help the poor.
SSP Mohan Lal Bhagat, who was present specially, threw light on the life of Sant Kabir and underlined his contribution in eradicating social evils from the society. He said that the biggest contribution of Sant Kabir was in establishing a harmonious society based on social and economic justice. He said that it was Sant Kabir who had envisioned a society in which every person and community would be treated equally.
