Madhya Pradesh government has made a big announcement for school children. Now children in MP will have to go to school without bags once a week. Yes… This decision will be applicable to children from class 1 to class 12 from the upcoming new academic session (2024-25). 'Bag Less School' will be celebrated one day every week. This decision has been taken to reduce the stress of the students. This will be applicable to all government and private schools running in the state. The state government has also issued a notice for this in which the weight of the students' bags has also been fixed according to their classes.
The weight of the bag was also decided
According to the notice, the maximum weight of school bags for class 1 and 2 students will be 1.6 to 2.2 kg. Similarly, the weight will be 1.7 to 2.5 kg for classes 3 to 5, 2 to 3 kg for classes 6 and 7, 2.5 to 4 kg for class 8 and 2.5 to 4.5 kg for class 9 and 10 students. Moreover, the weight of school bags for class 11th and 12th students will be decided by the school management committee as per the stream of the students.
Madhya Pradesh School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh told ANI, 'We have taken this decision to reduce the stress caused by the burden of bags on school students. The weight of bags of small children will now be 2.2 kg and that of older students will be 4.5 kg. And 'Bag Less School' will be run once a week.
What will happen on bag free school day?
The School Education Minister said that 'Bag less school means that children enjoy the day. They enjoy sports, cultural programs, music etc. in school. Students should be kept engaged in such a way that school does not seem like a stress to them but rather going to school becomes a joy for them. We have taken this initiative in this direction to remove the stress of the students. Instructions have been issued to strictly follow the school bag policy from the new academic session (2024-25).
