Ruling BJP is the largest party with 240 seats, NDA has absolute majority, Indian alliance is strong on 234 seats

New Delhi, June 04 (HS). The picture of the eighteenth Lok Sabha has more or less become clear. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is going to form the government once again. After the counting of votes which started at 8 in the morning, the results that came out till 11 in the night show that the Bharatiya Janata Party has won 233 seats and is leading on 7. It is believed that there is not much possibility of any change in this now. Overall, the BJP is returning as the largest party by winning 240 seats. But it is 32 seats short of the majority.

On the other hand, the other big party Congress has performed much better than its previous performance. It has won 90 seats and is leading on 9 seats. Overall, 99 seats are going to Congress's account.

The biggest upset has been caused by the Samajwadi Party. This party from Uttar Pradesh will now be the third biggest force in the Lok Sabha. The Samajwadi Party under the leadership of Akhilesh Yadav has won 36 seats and is leading on one seat.

On the other hand, Mamata Banerjee's magic remained intact in West Bengal. Trinamool Congress, which had raised the slogan of Khela Hobe last time, spoiled BJP's game. Trinamool Congress has won 29 out of 42 seats in Bengal. Here, 11 seats have fallen in BJP's lap, while it is leading on 1 seat whose result is yet to be declared.

Apart from these, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) 16, Janata Dal (United) 12 and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) 12 are the only parties that have won in double digits. DMK is leading on 6 seats and TDP on 4 seats.

The biggest setback for the Bharatiya Janata Party has come in Uttar Pradesh. Here it has lost 30 seats from its previous 63 to 33. Here the Samajwadi Party has gained 29 seats while the Congress has increased from 1 seat to 6 seats. Apart from this, the NDA has also been disappointed in Maharashtra. Here, in the case of real versus fake party, people have given more public support to the parties of Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray.

In the national capital Delhi, the Bharatiya Janata Party has once again repeated history and won all seven seats.
