Severe heat in Gujarat, red alert
There is severe heat in Gujarat, people are troubled by it. The temperature has crossed 44 degrees in most parts of the state. The maximum temperature in Ahmedabad was recorded at 46.6 degrees. The temperature in Gandhinagar was also 46 degrees. The weather department had predicted a red alert. According to which, Ahmedabad will remain hot for two days. A warning has been issued that the temperature will remain up to 45 degrees in cities like Rajkot, Vadodara, Ahmedabad till May 25.
Severe heat in Rajasthan for 9 days from tomorrow: Red alert in 22 districts
The temperature in Rajasthan has reached close to 49 degrees. All the districts bordering Pakistan including Barmer, Jalore have been affected by floods. Severe heat will start for 9 days from May 25. The Meteorological Center Jaipur has issued a red alert for 22 districts and an orange alert for three districts tomorrow.

Heat wave alert in MP, rain in Betul, Chhindwara

Heat wave alert in Haryana
In Haryana, heat wave red alert has been issued in 3 districts Sirsa, Mahendragarh and Rewari, orange alert in 11 districts and yellow alert in 8 districts. The heat wave will blow at a speed of 40 kilometers per hour. Along with this, heat wave alert has also been issued in Punjab and Chandigarh.
The water level in the reservoirs has gone down
According to data from the Central Water Commission (CWC), the water level in 150 major reservoirs in India has fallen to the lowest level in five years in the last seven days. As a result, water supply in many areas has been affected.
Increase in demand for electricity
Due to the heat wave, India's electricity demand reached 237 gigawatts (GW) on Thursday. Earlier this week, the demand was 234 gigawatts (GW). Earlier in September 2023, the maximum electricity demand was up to 243.27 GW. Electricity demand in Rajasthan increased by 20 percent. Also, the demand in Delhi has reached 8 thousand MW. Then the situation is similar in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
40% increase in the price of vegetables and pulses
Due to the heat, potatoes, tomatoes and onions are facing inflation. This has also increased the prices of food. Due to the increase in the prices of vegetables, pulses and food grains, food inflation increased to 8.7 percent in April. It was 8.52 percent in March. It is expected to increase in the month of June as well.
Apart from this, the prices of perishable goods are also likely to increase due to heat in the months of May-June. Whereas, a slight decrease in inflation can be seen in July-August.
