List of BSP candidates: Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has announced another list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. In this list of BSP, names of candidates have been announced from Kaiserganj, Gonda, Dumariyaganj, Sant Kabirnagar, Barabanki, Azamgarh seats. The party has made Narendra Pandey the candidate from Kaiserganj seat and has changed its candidate from Azamgarh. The party has given ticket to Alok Kushwaha in the by-election from Lucknow East seat.
Who got the ticket from which seat?
BSP has given ticket to Saurabh Kumar Mishra from Gonda Lok Sabha seat, Mohammad Nadeem Mirza from Dumariyaganj seat and Nadeem Ashraf from Sant Kabirnagar seat. The party has declared Shivkumar Dohar from Barabanki seat reserved for Scheduled Castes and Mashhood Ahmed from Azamgarh seat.
There are three Muslim faces in the list of 6 candidates announced by BSP. The party has also bet on two Brahmins. The party has also given ticket to a Scheduled Caste candidate from a reserved seat. This is the 11th list of BSP candidates. Before this, the party has released 10 lists and announced the names of candidates for more than 75 seats.
Changed candidate from Azamgarh for the second time
BSP has changed its candidate from Azamgarh Lok Sabha seat for the second time. BSP had earlier declared its former state president Bhim Rajbhar as its candidate from this seat. Later the party announced to field Bhim from Salempur Lok Sabha seat and declared Shabiha Ansari as its candidate from Azamgarh seat and has now given ticket to Mashhood Ahmed.
Shabiha Ansari has been associated with Congress. BJP has once again fielded Dineshlal Yadav Nirahua from this seat, while Samajwadi Party has given ticket to Dharmendra Yadav. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, SP President Akhilesh Yadav reached Parliament by winning the election from this seat.
