The Meteorological Department has predicted severe heat wave in some states of Eastern and South India for the next five days. However, today and tomorrow, warnings of rain, thunderstorm and lightning have also been issued at many places in the plains of north-west India and western Himalayan regions. There will be heavy to very heavy rain in Northeast India till May 1. This can provide some relief from the heat.

Talking about the weather of the last 24 hours, heat wave conditions were observed in Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rayalaseema, Interior Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Mahe. At the same time, light to moderate rain occurred in states like Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Chandigarh, Western Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh etc. , Hailstorm occurred in Uttarakhand, Punjab, Southern Haryana and Madhya Pradesh.

The Meteorological Department estimates that there will be rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand between April 28-30. Storm and lightning will also occur. At the same time, there has been a warning of rain, storm and lightning in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh on 28 and 29 April. At the same time, an alert of rain and storm has been issued in some areas of Uttar Pradesh on 28 and 29 April. Apart from this, lightning may also occur in many areas. A hailstorm warning has been issued in Punjab on April 29.

Talking about other states, there will be rain in Western Madhya Pradesh on 28th April, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh on 28th and 29th April, Marathwada on 28th April. At the same time, there is a rain alert in Kerala and Mahe for the next five days, in Lakshadweep between 28-29 April, in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam between 28-30 April.

Avalanche warning in four districts of Kashmir

Amid bad weather in the Kashmir Valley, an avalanche warning has been issued in the upper reaches of four districts of the valley during the next 24 hours. Jammu and Kashmir Disaster Management Authority (JKDMA) has issued this warning on Sunday. Avalanches at 'moderate danger' level up to 3,000 meters above sea level have been predicted in Baramulla, Bandipora and Kupwara districts of north Kashmir as well as Ganderbal district of central Kashmir in the next 24 hours. People living in these areas have been advised to exercise caution and avoid venturing out in avalanche prone areas until further orders. Kashmir valley has received widespread rainfall during the last few days and some upper reaches have also received light snowfall.
