Dawoodi Whora's claim against appointment of pastor rejected

The Bombay High Court has dismissed a suit filed in 2014 challenging the appointment of Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin as the pastor of Dawoodi Whora Com. This claim was made by his brother Khujima Qutbuddin immediately after the death of the then Dawoodi Whora Maulvi Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin at the age of 102 in January 2014, rejecting which the bench of Justice Gautam Patel of the High Court said that only the issues of evidence. But the decision was taken, not on the issue of faith. After the death of Syedna Mohammad Burhanuddin, his son Mufaddal Saifuddin took over the post of Syedna. After Khuzimah Qutbuddin's death in 2016, her son Tahir Fakhruddin put forward a claim, saying that his father had handed over power to him. The claim seeks to keep Mufaddal Saifuddin away from his duties as Syed. Qutbuddin claimed that his brother Burhanuddin had appointed him as his Mazun (second in command) and that 'Nas' had personally succeeded him before Mazun's announcement on 10 December 1965.

This is a historic and defining moment for the community. The High Court has rejected the claims of the original plaintiff and the present plaintiff while disposing of various lies.
