Amidst the continuous fluctuations in crude oil prices in the international market, Indian oil marketing companies (IOCL, BPCL, HPCL) have released the latest prices of petrol and diesel for today, 30 October 2026. There has been no major change in fuel prices at the national level today and the rates have remained broadly stable.
Relief continues for drivers in major metros of the country including the capital Lucknow. However, due to local VAT, Cess and freight charges in different states, there is a slight difference in the prices of petrol and diesel in every city.
According to official data released by government oil companies, the retail prices of petrol and diesel in major cities on October 30 are as follows:
| city/state | Petrol price (₹/litre) | Diesel Price (₹/Litre) |
| Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) | ₹94.65 | ₹87.76 |
| New Delhi | ₹94.72 | ₹87.62 |
| Noida/Ghaziabad | ₹94.66 | ₹87.76 |
| Mumbai (Maharashtra) | ₹103.44 | ₹89.97 |
| Kolkata (West Bengal) | ₹103.94 | ₹90.76 |
| Chennai (Tamil Nadu) | ₹100.75 | ₹92.34 |
| Bengaluru (Karnataka) | ₹102.86 | ₹88.94 |
| Patna (Bihar) | ₹105.48 | ₹92.32 |
| Jaipur (Rajasthan) | ₹104.88 | ₹90.36 |
| Chandigarh | ₹94.24 | ₹82.40 |
Under the dynamic fuel pricing system in India, government oil marketing companies determine the new prices of petrol and diesel every day at 6 am by reviewing the last 15 days’ average price of crude oil in the international market and the exchange rate of the Indian rupee against the US dollar.
Apart from the base price, the final retail selling price paid by the consumer includes Central Government Excise Duty, State Government VAT (Value Added Tax) and petrol pump dealer’s commission. This is the reason why in states where VAT rates are high (like Bihar, Maharashtra, Rajasthan), the price of petrol remains above ₹ 100, whereas in Delhi-NCR and UP it is being sold below ₹ 95.
If you want to know the exact price in your area before going to the petrol pump, then you can know the latest price sitting at home by just sending an SMS without internet:
