Former captain of the Pakistan cricket team and key wicketkeeper batsman of the 1992 World Cup winning team, Moin Khan has publicly raised his voice in support of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan. Amid reports of deteriorating health and medical neglect of 73-year-old Imran Khan, lodged in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, Moin Khan has released an emotional video on social media. He has demanded the Pakistan government and the jail administration to respect the basic rights of a former Prime Minister and national hero. Moeen Khan called upon all the current and former cricketers of the country to show their gratitude towards their former captain and come forward unitedly for his human rights.
In his video message shared on social media platform ‘X’, Moeen Khan said that Imran Khan is not just a former politician but he is the biggest pillar in the history of Pakistan cricket. He said, “Our captain Imran Khan is lodged in Adiala jail and his physical condition is very worrying at present. I once again appeal to the Government of Pakistan and the prison administration to ensure his right to medical treatment as a former Prime Minister and a citizen of the country. I also make a special request to all Pakistani cricketers to speak out in support of Imran Khan. Those of us who played under him have learned a lot from Imran and his contribution to the country’s cricket will never be underestimated.” Cannot be forgotten.”
