
Greater Noida/Lucknow, 17 August. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YIDA) has taken another big step towards taking Uttar Pradesh to new heights in the field of industrial investment, employment and modern infrastructure. Many important proposals related to industrial development, medical education, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, transport, sports and farmers were approved in the 92nd board meeting of the authority on Monday. The decisions taken in the meeting will accelerate the development of Jewar-Noida Airport area as an integrated industrial and institutional hub. Plans such as a medical hub, university township, international stadium, interstate bus stand, Taiwan City and pharmaceutical manufacturing cluster will create new investment and employment opportunities in the region.
Medical hub will be built in 500 acres
The most important decision of the meeting is related to the establishment of a medical hub on 500 acres of land in Sector-13 and Sector-14, the institutional land use of the authority. Along with this, the plan to develop University Township on 480 acres of land in Sector-14 has also been taken forward. These projects will develop high level medical facilities and new opportunities for higher education in the area. The development of the Medical Hub and University Township will also increase employment opportunities in health, education and related services in the surrounding area.
Approval for construction of modern international stadium on 50 acres
In order to provide an international level platform to sports talents, about 50 acres of land in Sector-23D has been identified for a modern international stadium. The development of the stadium will increase the possibilities of hosting major national and international sports events in the area. It will also help in providing better training and competitive facilities to local and state sports talents.
Modern market will be built in 36 acres
With the aim of providing better markets and modern facilities to the farmers, land has been identified for the establishment of a market on about 36 acres of land in Sector-34. Through the modern market, work will be done to improve the facilities related to marketing, storage and trading of agricultural products. This will help in providing organized market system to the farmers of the area.
Interstate bus stand will be built near Noida airport
In view of the rapidly increasing traffic needs around Noida International Airport, Jewar, it has been decided to identify land for the establishment of an inter-state bus stand in Sector-23C. This will provide better public transport facilities to passengers, entrepreneurs and common people traveling to and from the airport. This will also strengthen the connectivity between the airport, industrial areas and the new urban areas developing nearby.
Taiwan City will be built on 300 acres
An important decision has also been taken towards promoting foreign investment in electronics and technical manufacturing sector in Uttar Pradesh. The Board approved the proposal to reserve 300 acres of land to establish Taiwan City in Sector-06. This project will increase the possibilities of attracting investment related to Taiwan-based companies and technical manufacturing sector. This will strengthen the electronics, technology and manufacturing ecosystem in the region.
Pharmaceutical formulation manufacturing cluster to be built on 125 acres
A major decision was also taken in the board meeting towards making Uttar Pradesh a major center of pharma manufacturing. It was decided to reserve land for developing a dedicated pharmaceutical formulation manufacturing cluster on approximately 100 to 125 acres of land in Sector-06. In this cluster, it is envisaged to establish units involved in manufacturing of medicines in accordance with national and international Goods Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. There are plans to set up manufacturing units of medicines like tablets, capsules, injectables, oral liquids, topical preparations and finished dosage forms here. This will attract investment from national and international pharma companies as well as create huge employment opportunities. It will also help in giving Uttar Pradesh an important place in the global pharma value chain and developing the state as a leading pharma manufacturing hub.
International level testing facility in Medical Device Park
To strengthen the medical device sector, the proposal to set up a medical device testing facility conforming to FDA’s Accreditation Scheme for Conformity Assessment (ASCA) at the Medical Device Park of Yamuna Authority has also been approved. The Board also approved the proposal to constitute a Technical Expert Committee to examine the technical, financial and institutional aspects of the project. Currently, Indian medical device manufacturers have to depend on foreign laboratories in many cases for testing and conformance assessment of products. This increases both cost and time. The proposed international level testing facility will provide better testing facilities to the country’s medical device manufacturers and MSME units at the domestic level. The facility is planned to provide services such as electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility, mechanical performance, software validation, sterilization and packaging validation. This will boost investment and exports in the medical device sector.
Culvert will be built on Karban river in Agra
The Board also approved the construction of a culvert (minor bridge) over the Karban River in the service road at Chain 161.21 of Yamuna Expressway under Yamuna Authority area in Agra district. At present, due to excessive waterlogging during the rainy season, traffic on the service road gets disrupted. After the construction of the culvert, it will help in maintaining smooth traffic even during the rainy season and the local citizens will be able to get the facility of safe and uninterrupted movement.
Increase in land purchase rates from farmers
In view of the rapid industrial and infrastructure development in the area, the Board also approved the proposal for rescheduling of land purchase rates on the basis of consent from the farmers. According to the proposal, it has been decided to increase with mutual consent the current rate of purchasing land useful for planned development in Gautam Buddha Nagar and Bulandshahr districts in Phase-1 of the authority area from Rs 4,300 per square meter to Rs 4,558 per square meter. This rate will be based on 6 percent increase. As an alternative arrangement, the option of purchasing land including plot at Rs 4,037 per square meter and 7 percent population has also been fixed.
Authority’s income increased by more than 90 percent
The financial position of the authority was also presented in the board meeting. The total receipts of the authority till July 31, 2025 in the financial year 2025-26 stood at Rs 974.37 crore, while in the financial year 2026-27 it increased to Rs 1,853.74 crore till July 31, 2026. Thus, compared to the same period last year, an increase of 90.25 percent was recorded in the total receipts. Especially under the Industrial/Mixed Land Scheme, revenue of Rs 1,195.99 crore was received, which is 86.17 percent of the budget earmarked for the entire year under this head. At the same time, the total expenditure of the authority till July 31, 2025 was Rs 1,308.57 crore, while till July 31, 2026 it increased to Rs 3,690.64 crore. In this, Rs 3,371 crore was spent on land acquisition and repayment of loans taken from various banks.
Investment, employment and infrastructure will get new momentum
The decisions taken in the 92nd board meeting of Yamuna Authority are being linked to the expansion of the new economic zone being developed around Jewar Airport. There is a plan to simultaneously accelerate industrial investment, employment, education, health, sports and connectivity through projects like medical hub, university township, pharma cluster, medical device testing facility, Taiwan City, international stadium and interstate bus stand. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the role of Yamuna Authority area is becoming increasingly important in the efforts to take Uttar Pradesh towards one trillion dollar economy and create a world-class industrial and investment ecosystem in the state in line with the goal of Developed India @ 2047.
