Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s government has given the biggest and historic gift of this time to the youth of Uttar Pradesh and former firefighters of the Indian Army. A very sensational and welcome news is coming out from the capital Lucknow, where in an important meeting of the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, a major policy decision has been taken and a formal announcement has been made to give huge 20 percent (20%) direct reservation to the Agniveers in the police and PAC recruitments of the state. The most important thing is that these firemen returning after completing their service to the country in the army will no longer need to pass any kind of difficult written exam in the direct recruitment examinations of Uttar Pradesh Police or other security forces. With this revolutionary decision of the government, the future of the brave soldiers of the country has now become completely secure and they have got a golden and easy path to get direct job in the police department.
This big decision was taken in this high level cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, keeping the interests of the youth protecting the country paramount. The Government believes that the youth who join the Indian Army at an early age to guard the country’s borders and undergo rigorous military discipline, physical fitness and weapons training are the most suitable candidates for the internal security and police forces of the state. Keeping this in mind, the Uttar Pradesh government has made a legal provision to reserve 20% posts for fire warriors in direct recruitment on various constable posts of Police Department, Jail Warden and PAC. This decision has brought a wave of happiness among all the youth of Uttar Pradesh who are dreaming of joining the police service in their state after joining the army in future.
The most attractive aspect of this new policy is that Agniveer will not have to go through lengthy and difficult written examinations of Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment Board like other general candidates. As per the rules decided by the government, eligible candidates having Agniveer certificate will be completely exempted from the written exam. They only have to successfully pass their Physical Efficiency Test and Medical Fitness Test. Since Agniveer has gone through rigorous physical training in the Army, it will be very easy for him to meet this physical standard. This process will not only make the selection process extremely transparent and fast, but talented youth will not have to sit in the rush of competitive examinations for years to get a job.
This decision of Yogi government is being appreciated all around. Political analysts believe that this decision will not only motivate the youth to serve in the army, but will also completely eliminate the uncertainty about their future after completion of four years of service. The question was often raised that what would Agniveer do after four years, but the Uttar Pradesh government has presented an excellent model to the country by implementing this masterstroke of 20% reservation in police and PAC. Youth organizations and ex-servicemen have wholeheartedly welcomed this step of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and termed it as true gratitude towards the soldiers serving the nation.
After getting the approval of the Cabinet, now the Home Department and Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPBPB) have started preparing detailed rules to implement this scheme. Very soon the state government will issue an official notification for recruitment to these 20% posts reserved for firefighters. The youth who have successfully completed their service in the Army or who are eligible for it as per the rules, will be able to directly avail the benefits of this special quota. These new doors of jobs in Uttar Pradesh for the brave soldiers of Devbhoomi and the country prove that the double engine government is fully committed to the honor of the soldiers and their bright future.
