At the age of 58, Arshad Warsi revealed the secrets of new actors! Said – Young generation is very talented, but just one skill is missing in them At 58, Arshad Warsi reveals the secrets of new actors! He says, “The young generation is incredibly talented, but one skill is disappearing.”

Actor Arshad Warsi, famous for his outspoken style and strong comic timing in the Hindi film industry, has successfully completed almost three decade long journey in Bollywood. From the circuit of ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ to the recent release ‘Dhamaal 4’, Arshad has witnessed the changing times of cinema and several generations of artistes from close quarters. Recently, during an interview, this 58-year-old seasoned artist openly appreciated the talent of today’s young actors, but also made a big and interesting revelation about their working methods and decreasing patience.

Today’s generation is super-professional, but patience is disappearing

Arshad Warsi believes that today’s new generation actors are very focused, serious and professional about their art. They know very well what they want to achieve in their career and are completely clear about their priorities. However, along with this he also says that in this modern and fast-paced era, the quality of ‘patience’ i.e. patience is gradually disappearing. According to Arshad, new artists are a little sensitive and they often ignore the importance of the collective process of film making, which makes cinema come alive.

That interesting story from the sets of ‘Golmaal’: When Rohit Shetty made a surprising revelation

Arshad, who has recently been active in projects like ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, ‘Pritam & Pedro’ and ‘Dhamaal 4’ amidst his busy work front, threw light on the changes in the work culture of the industry. He shared an incident from the shooting of the film ‘Golmaal’, when director Rohit Shetty made a funny comparison after seeing him and Ajay Devgan. Arshad recalled that he and Ajay Devgan, despite being in their sixties, would perform dangerous stunts—like running on a treadmill, hanging and falling—and would sit quietly on their chairs and wait for the next shot.

Young actors go to get massage: Arshad told the difference in the attitude of new and old actors

Taking the matter forward quoting Rohit Shetty, Arshad said that the director had told him that after giving a shot, young actors these days go straight to their vanity van to get a body massage, and the crew has to wait till they return. Arshad sarcastically said that while even at this age we are continuously busy in work without any tantrum, the new generation wants everything immediately and in a very comfortable environment. They want to be limited only to their work and rest, due to which the coordination of teamwork gets spoiled many times.

Thinking of ‘me, me and me’ does not work: Actors should not focus only on themselves.

Along with criticism, Arshad also makes it clear that he is not dismissing the capabilities of the new generation. He believes that if someone wants to play a long innings in the world of acting, then he should not be limited to just his performance or ‘I’ (just himself). It is also important for an actor to understand what physical or mental conditions the director, producer and other co-actors are going through at that time. Film making is a shared effort, and a great environment cannot be created unless you respect others’ positions.

Even today Arshad Warsi is active with the same energy.

Arshad Warsi, who is on the threshold of sixty years of age, still has the same energy towards work as the youth. From theater to OTT platforms, his journey continues at full speed. This July itself, his new series ‘Pritam and Pedro’ has been released on Jio Hotstar, and on the big screen, he is continuously making the audience laugh through the multi-starrer comedy ‘Dhamaal 4’ and ‘Welcome to the Jungle’. His experience and outspoken approach clearly show that there is no substitute for discipline and understanding in the world of acting.
