UP Weather Forecast (13 July 2026): Orange alert of torrential rain and lightning in 18 districts of Uttar Pradesh, know the condition of your city including Lucknow.

Due to the full activity of Monsoon in Uttar Pradesh, the mood of the weather has completely changed. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a major weather bulletin in the state for the next 24 hours. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a strong possibility of heavy rain, lightning and strong storm in many parts of Eastern and Western Uttar Pradesh. People living especially in north-eastern districts have been warned to be extremely cautious about this severe form of weather.

The list of major districts of the state for which meteorologists have issued an alert of heavy rain and storm on July 13 is as follows:

  • Districts of Western UP: Meerut, Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida), Ghaziabad, Muzaffarnagar, Aligarh, Mathura, Agra, Etah, Mahamaya Nagar (Hathras) and Mainpuri.

  • Districts of Eastern and Central UP: Kanpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Maharajganj, Kushinagar and Deoria.

Special red-alert in 7 districts of Purvanchal

Due to torrential rains in 7 districts falling in the north-eastern belt of eastern Uttar Pradesh, there is a possibility of local flood-like situation or disruption of life. The Meteorological Department has especially asked the administration and citizens of Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Kushinagar, Balrampur, Maharajganj and Siddharthnagar to remain on alert.

If we talk about Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, there will be partly cloudy sky today. Due to sunlight coming out amidst the clouds, the effect of humidity in the atmosphere will be very high, which may cause some trouble to the passersby.

  • Maximum Temperature: Expected to reach 38 degrees Celsius.

  • Minimum Temperature (Min Temp): Likely to be around 29 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Department has also issued a guideline regarding possible losses during heavy rains:

  1. Urban waterlogging: Due to heavy rains, heavy water accumulation can occur in low-lying areas, main roads and railway underpasses.

  2. Traffic Jam: Waterlogging on the roads and low visibility can cause huge disruption in traffic.

  3. Danger to kutcha houses: Strong storms and water splashes can cause damage to kutcha houses or weak structures in rural areas.

  4. Electricity crisis: Due to lightning and breaking of trees, there may be problem of power outage for hours in many areas.

  5. Damage to agriculture: There is a possibility of partial damage to horticulture and newly sown crops due to sudden increase in the water level of seasonal rivers and streams.

IMD has appealed to the general public to avoid traveling outside their homes unnecessarily during heavy rain and lightning. Instead of standing in waterlogged roads or open fields, take shelter in a permanent house. Farmer brothers, while working in the fields, do not hide under big trees at all. Monsoon activity will remain the same in the state throughout the coming week, due to which the temperature is expected to drop slightly.
