Samajwadi Party MP from Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh, Virendra Singh has suddenly come into limelight with his new and outspoken statement. While making a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), he has given a big statement regarding Lord Shiva and the method of worship. The SP MP said that the God of us poor is Bholenath i.e. Shankar ji, who is very simple and becomes happy only by offering Bhang-Dhatura. This statement of Virendra Singh is becoming increasingly viral on social media and a new debate has started on this in political circles.
Our God does not discriminate between rich and poor
Taking his point forward, SP MP Virendra Singh said that the glory of Lord Shankar is unique and he is the protector of every section of the society. He stressed that there is no need for great wealth or show off to please Bholenath. If even the poorest of the poor person offers just Bhang, Dhatura or Belpatra to him with full devotion, then Lord Shiva fulfills all his wishes. His statement is being seen as an attempt to unite the people directly connected to the land and the poor.
Questions raised on BJP’s religious politics
Along with this, MP Virendra Singh, through gestures, took a dig at the religious politics and methods of the ruling party BJP. He said in a comparative tone that on one hand the worshipers of the poor are so simple, whereas the God of the BJP people and their methods of worship are completely different. The SP MP alleged that BJP only does politics in the name of religion and God and there is no place for the common and poor people in their ostensible devotion.
Politics heated up in UP due to Chandauli MP’s statement
After this statement of Virendra Singh came out, the phase of rhetoric has intensified in the politics of Uttar Pradesh. Political analysts believe that through such statements, Samajwadi Party is trying to present itself as the real messiah of the poor and backward, while BJP is being targeted as a party of capitalists and a party doing politics of show off. Now it remains to be seen what response comes from the BJP camp on this ‘Bhang-Dhatura’ statement of the SP MP.
