BJP’s Grand Triumph in Bengal: Debangshu Panda Wins Falta Seat by 1.09 Lakh Votes; TMC Slips to Fourth Place. BJP’s big bang in Bengal results in Debangshu Panda winning the seat by 1.09 lakh votes, TMC slipped to fourth position.

The biggest and shocking news of this time is coming out from the political riot of West Bengal. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has registered a unilateral and historic victory in the high-profile elections held on Phalta Assembly seat. BJP candidate Debangshu Panda has defeated his nearest rival CPI(M)’s Shambhu Nath Kurmi by a record huge margin of more than 1,09,021 votes. The biggest blow in this election has been suffered by the state’s former ruling party Trinamool Congress (TMC), whose candidate has slipped to fourth position. At the same time, Congress’s Abdur Razzaq Mulla stood third with just 10 thousand votes.

Abhishek Banerjee raised questions on the speed of election results

After this crushing and historic defeat in Phalta, TMC MP from Diamond Harbor Abhishek Banerjee is completely devastated. Expressing deep objection to the process of counting of votes, he has demanded a written explanation from the Election Commission of India (ECI). Alleging major discrepancies in the results, Abhishek Banerjee said, “This is the first time in the electoral history of West Bengal that 21 rounds of counting of votes were completed by 3 pm. Whereas usually only 2 to 4 rounds of counting are completed by this time. What is the secret behind such haste and speed?”

Re-poll was done after spraying perfume on EVM and booth capturing

Let us tell you that during the initial voting on Phalta seat, there were complaints of widespread rigging and irregularities. At many polling stations, there were serious allegations of spraying suspicious substances like perfume on EVM machines, deliberately covering the election symbols of opposition parties and booth capturing. Finding these complaints to be true, the Election Commission on April 29 had given a historic decision to conduct re-polling in all 285 booths of the entire assembly. In this re-polling, a record 86 percent voting was recorded amid heavy deployment of central forces.

TMC candidate had left the field, Abhishek Banerjee accused of driving away agents

Another interesting thing about this election was that even before the voting, TMC candidate Jahangir Khan had announced not to contest the election by leaving the field, although due to technical reasons his name and election symbol were present on the EVM. Expressing grief over the plight of his party, Abhishek Banerjee alleged, “As a result, more than 1,000 active TMC workers were intimidated and the Election Commission turned a blind eye. Our party’s offices were attacked in broad daylight. The most worrying thing is that except BJP, polling agents of all the opposition parties were also chased away from the counting centres. This is a violation of democracy and fair election system.” But it’s a direct attack.”

‘Diamond Harbor Model’ became the reason for TMC’s defeat: CM Shubhendu Adhikari

Expressing happiness over BJP’s massive victory in Falta, West Bengal Chief Minister Subhendu Adhikari has taken a sharp dig at TMC. CM Subhendu Adhikari said, “After a long wait of 15 years, the people of Bengal have got the freedom to vote without fear today, and as soon as free voting took place, the whole truth became milk of milk and water of water. TMC was no longer a political party but a mafia company, which misused the state government machinery and looted the public’s hard-earned money with both hands. The ‘Diamond Harbor Model’ which they used to boast about, Today the same model has become the biggest reason for TMC’s departure and crushing defeat.”
