A very big and relief news is coming out from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for the students of class 10th and 12th. CBSE has once again extended the last date for receiving scanned copies of its official answer sheets to May 24. Earlier the board had extended this deadline from May 22 to May 23. CBSE announced this decision by issuing an official notification on Friday. According to the board, this decision has been taken in view of the technical difficulties being faced by the official website for the last few days due to heavy traffic and some unauthorized interference (hacking attempts).
‘Unprecedented traffic’ on website: No student should be left out of the process
In the notification issued by CBSE, it is clearly stated that since the declaration of the results, unprecedented traffic is being seen on the CBSE website. Along with this, there have also been several attempts of unauthorized tampering with the portal, due to which there was a possibility of the website being disrupted. In such a situation, to protect the interests of the students and to ensure that no student is left untouched by this process, the last date is being extended till May 24.
The board has also clarified that students who get the scanned copy of their answer sheet will be given two full days additional time to apply for verification or re-evaluation of marks.
Historic cut in fee structure: Now copy will be available for only ₹ 100 instead of ₹ 700
This year, CBSE had started the process of revaluation after concerns were raised by students and parents regarding the on-screen digital marking system. It is a matter of relief that this year, keeping in mind the pockets of the students, the board has also made a big and historic amendment in the fee structure, which is as follows:
| Name of Service (CBSE Services) | old fixed fees | New Revised Fees (Year 2026) |
| Scanned copy of answer sheet | ₹700 per copy | ₹100 per copy |
| Verification of marks (Verification Fee) | ₹500 | ₹100 |

Regarding this chaos, ‘Students Federation of India’ (SFI) also strongly condemned the evaluation process of CBSE on Friday. The organization says that due to this negligence of the board, lakhs of students are living in deep stress and uncertainty about their future. This year has seen a huge decline in the pass percentage and even students with excellent academic records have got very low marks. The organization claimed that there are many students who have passed the country’s toughest competitive examination like ‘JEE Main’, but they have either failed in the respective subjects of CBSE Board or have got much less marks than expected.
