Chandigarh: Controversial IAS officer of 2014 batch of Haryana cadre Rani Nagar The process of termination of government service has reached the final stage. Now the state government has taken a tough stand against this officer who has been absent from duty without any notice for the last five and a half years. Personnel Department gave him 15 days final ultimatum Giving instructions, instructions have been given to file the reply.

Missing for five and a half years, no answer

Rani Nagar was last appointed to the post of Additional Secretary and Director in the Archives Department on 11 March 2020. As per records, he served only till 27 October 2020 and since then he has been missing without any prior notice or leave.

He was continuously sent e-mails and notices by the government, but till date he has not taken cognizance of any of them. Formal disciplinary action was initiated against him in May 2022.

UPSC’s advice and government’s tough stance

In July last year, the Haryana government gave permission to Rani Nagar. Compulsory Retirement Had made up my mind to give. However, then the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) had banned it.

UPSC Suggestion: The commission had advised that his grade be reduced by two years and his side be heard.

Final warning: Now the government has made it clear that if he does not present his side within 15 days, it will be assumed that he has nothing to say. IAS Rani Nagar was in the news and controversies many times during her service:

Resignation announcement: In May 2020, he announced his resignation by posting a video on Facebook citing threat to his life, although his resignation was not accepted later.

Harassment allegations: He had also made allegations of mental harassment against a senior officer, the investigation of which took a long time.

Missing: Since October 2020, she neither informed the department about her location nor attended any meeting.
