News India Live, Digital Desk:The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has equipped the Anganwadi workers who strengthen the foundation of the state with digital power. During a special program organized at Lok Bhavan in the capital Lucknow on Monday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath started the process of distributing smartphones to more than 69 thousand Anganwadi workers and chief servants of the state. Along with this, the Chief Minister also handed over appointment letters to 18,440 new Anganwadi workers selected through a transparent selection process, thereby adding a new chapter in the field of women empowerment.

Steps towards Digital India Addressing the program, the Chief Minister said that with the availability of smartphones, there will now be complete transparency in the functioning of Anganwadi centres. Now every child’s nutrition data and benefits of the schemes will be directly recorded on the portal, which will make monitoring easier. The aim of this hi-tech initiative is to root out corruption and deliver the benefits of the schemes directly to the eligible beneficiaries. CM said that ‘digital monitoring’ will now become more effective with the use of technology.

Honored as Yashoda Maiya Becoming emotional, CM Yogi compared Anganwadi workers to ‘Yashoda Maiya’. He said that just as Mother Yashoda had nurtured Lord Krishna, in the same way these workers are shaping the future of the children of the state. The Chief Minister stressed that if the childhood of the state is well-nourished and safe, then the future of Uttar Pradesh will also be bright. The role that these workers have played in the fight against malnutrition in the last few years is being appreciated across the country.

Gifts worth crores and new basic facilities Along with the distribution of smartphones, the Chief Minister also released the new designs of buildings of Anganwadi centers across the state. The government also laid the foundation stone for the construction of 633 new Anganwadi centers in 13 districts and 71 child development project offices in 28 districts. The total expenditure on these projects will be more than Rs 13,704 lakh. Besides, 2,468 Anganwadi centers were also inaugurated. The CM clarified that the government is committed to bringing development to every village by strengthening the infrastructure.
