Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation has taken steps towards the construction of a new ‘Satellite Bus Stand’ to further strengthen and streamline the public transport system of the district.

For this new project, the district administration has identified about 4.5 acres of land near Banjar Baba located on Sitapur Road. Now the process of transferring this marked land in the name of the Transport Corporation has been started, so that the construction work can be started as soon as the final approval is received from the government.

Proposal sent to government for land transfer

Transfer of land is the first and most important step in the construction of the satellite bus stand. For this, the district administration showed complete seriousness and One and a half crore rupees (₹1.5 crore) An official letter has been sent to the government to approve the amount. As soon as the budget is approved, the land will be handed over to the Transport Corporation. To complete this project on time, top officials of the Transport Corporation and the District Administration are constantly maintaining coordination among themselves.

There will be less pressure on the main bus stand and city roads

At present, all the buses of local routes as well as long distance buses (like Lucknow, Delhi, Bareilly) operate from one place at the main roadways bus stand of Hardoi city. Due to the gathering of hundreds of buses and thousands of passengers at one place, there is often chaos and huge crowd inside and outside the bus stand.

After the construction of the new satellite bus stand, long distance buses will be operated in a completely different and more organized manner. This will not only make it easier for the passengers to catch the bus, but the routes of the buses will also become easier.

There will be a ban on entry of heavy vehicles, rural routes will get a boost

Regional Manager of Roadways, Engineer Ramesh Kumar said:

“The biggest advantage with the commissioning of this new bus stand on Sitapur Road will be that heavy long distance buses will not have to pass through the main market and internal roads of the city. They will leave for their destination from outside, which will drastically reduce the problem of traffic jams within the city. Along with this, passengers coming from nearby rural areas will be able to get better and accessible transport facilities on their own routes.”

Modern facilities will be available as per future needs

According to the plan of the Transport Department, this new bus stand is being developed as a model not only by looking at the present situation, but also keeping in mind the increasing population and needs of the future. Many modern and basic facilities will be created here to make the journey of passengers comfortable:

• Big Waiting Room: An airy and comfortable waiting room will be constructed for the passengers to sit.

• Basic Facilities: Clean drinking water, clean toilets and organized ticket counters will be established.

• Wide Parking Space: Adequate space will be provided to park private vehicles (two-wheelers and four-wheelers).

• Easy transportation: A large and open complex will be developed for parking, turning and safe entry-exit of buses.
