News India Live, Digital Desk: At first glance this news may seem like any other encounter – that there was an exchange of fire between security forces and Naxalites and two Naxalites were killed. But what happened in the forests of Saranda was not a sudden incident. This was the result of a well-thought-out strategy, a maze that was being prepared quietly and patiently for the last three months.

The story starts three months ago

Exactly three months ago today, top officials of Jharkhand Police and CRPF sat together and prepared a map. The objective was clear – to penetrate Saranda, the biggest and safest fort of Naxalites. This highly secret mission was named ‘Operation Vijay Prahar’. The target was Commander Misir Besra, carrying a bounty of Rs 1 crore, and his entire squad, who had been running a game of terror for years by making these forests their home.

The biggest and boldest step

The authorities knew that nothing would be achieved by attacking from outside. If you want to defeat the enemy, you will have to enter his house. It was here that the most courageous decision of this operation was taken. It was decided that a forward camp of security forces would be built in the middle of the forest, right near Sonapi village, the Naxalite stronghold. It was like pitching your tent right at the mouth of a lion’s den.

This move proved to be a game-changer. As soon as the soldiers established their base inside the forest, the world of Naxalites was shaken. Their means of transportation were cut off, they lost contact with the villagers and help from outside also stopped. He remained a prisoner in his own house.

And then the right opportunity came…

The soldiers waited patiently for the right opportunity for three months. They were keeping an eye on every small and big movement. And then on May 1, that opportunity finally came. As soon as the confirmed news of the squad’s movement was received, the soldiers surrounded them from all sides and attacked. The result was in front of everyone.

This encounter is not just the death of two Naxalites, but it is a small victory of the big battle, preparations for which were going on for months. This shows that now the fight is not for equality, but for the destruction of Naxalites, that too not on their terms, but on the terms of the security forces.
