New Delhi: From the plains of North India to the hilly states, the weather is once again going to take a dangerous turn. While the bone-chilling cold wave will continue in Punjab and Haryana due to powerful western disturbances activating one after the other, an alert of heavy snowfall has been issued in the Kashmir Valley. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a major warning of thunderstorms, strong winds and hailstorm in many parts of Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Due to these changes, the chill is likely to reach its peak in the coming days.

Weather will deteriorate in Delhi-NCR on January 23, storm alert
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for Delhi and adjacent NCR areas. From January 23, the weather patterns will change completely. According to IMD, the sky will be densely covered with clouds and there is a strong possibility of heavy rain with thunder throughout the day. There will also be a huge drop in temperature, which will increase the chill. The biggest concern is strong winds and storms moving at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour, along with which there is also a danger of lightning.

There may be relief from cold after rain in Punjab-Haryana
Severe cold wave continued in Punjab and Haryana on Wednesday, disrupting life. However, the Meteorological Department estimates that the western disturbance becoming active in the next few days will bring changes in the weather. Light to moderate rain may occur in many areas of the region. After this rain, people are expected to get some relief from the harsh cold due to slight increase in temperature, but at the same time an alert of strong winds and thunder has also been issued.

Effect of double western disturbance on Rajasthan, chances of rain throughout the week
A powerful western disturbance has hit Rajasthan, causing major changes in the weather. According to the Meteorological Centre, there is every possibility of light to moderate rain in most parts of the state between January 22 and 24. Not only this, another new western disturbance is going to be active from 26 to 28 January. Due to these two back-to-back systems, there will be fluctuations in temperature in Rajasthan and rain activities along with thunderstorms will be seen for the coming one week.

Drought period will end in Kashmir, alert issued for heavy snowfall
The long-running dry season in the Kashmir Valley is about to end. The weather department has predicted heavy snowfall in the entire valley on January 22 and 23. There are full chances of snowfall in the plains including Srinagar, due to which the temperature may go below zero. The administration has warned that ground and air traffic may be severely affected due to heavy snowfall due to slippery roads and reduced visibility.

Orange alert of hailstorm in UP till January 26
The next five days are going to be very difficult for Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has issued an ‘Orange Alert’ of light to moderate rain, lightning and severe hailstorm in the entire state from January 22 to 26. Especially in western and central UP, heavy rain is expected till January 24. During this period, strong winds can blow at a speed of 30 to 60 kilometers per hour. This seasonal change will start from western UP and gradually move towards the eastern parts, due to which the chill will increase further in the entire state.
