Planning to go to Europe? This big rule is changing from October 12, now passport will not be stamped

A new Digital Entry-Exit System (EES) is being implemented from October 12, after which the system of putting traditional stamp on your passport will end.

The Foreign Ministry of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has also informed its citizens about this new rule.

What is this new digital system and how will it work?

It is an automatic digital system that will keep records of passengers arriving and departing in the Schengen area. This rule will apply to all travelers who are not European Union (EU) citizens and traveling for short periods (up to 90 days in 180 days).

Under the new system, when you enter any European country for the first time, you will:

Your data will remain valid for 3 years

Once your biometric data is entered into the system, it will be stored for up to three years. This means you won’t have to repeat this process the next time you travel. You have to update your data only if there is any change in it or any mistake is found.

This new rule will save a lot of time for passengers and the border control process will become faster and safer than before. The ministry has also assured that all the data of passengers will be kept completely safe under the privacy rules of the European Union. However, those who hold diplomatic passports are exempted from this system.
