Varanasi: A heinous incident of atrocities on a woman has come to light in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. A young woman was gang -raped by 23 people here for seven days. The act was done by drinking alcohol to the girl and taking her to different places. Based on the complaint of the victim’s mother, the police have registered a case against 23 people and arrested six.
DCP Chandrakant Meena said that out of a total of 23 accused, 11 are unknown while 12 have been identified. Six people have been arrested while the search for others is on. The entire incident started on 29 March 2025, when the victim was returning from her friend Riya’s house, she met a young man named Raj Vishwakarma. Raj took the girl to one place and raped her there.
The next day the young man named Sameer came on a bike with his friend and lifted the girl, later raped her on the way, later on 31 March, Ayush came with his five friends Sohail, Danish, Anmol, Sajid and Zaheer and took the girl to a cafe, drunk alcohol and then raped her. The accused then took the girl to different places the next day and gang-raped her. The girl reached home on 4 April and told her mother the incident. Based on the mother’s complaint, the police has started investigation.
