In the plains of the country, fire raining from the sky and record breaking heat has completely disrupted normal life. Innocent school children were suffering the most due to the continuous heat waves. Keeping in mind the health and safety of children, the district administration has taken a very important step. The District Magistrate (DM) has issued a new official order for all the educational institutions of the district. Under this new instruction, it has been decided to keep all government, aided and private schools from play schools, pre-primary to class VIII completely closed till June 30.

Keeping in mind the health of innocent people, the administration took a tough decision

For the past few days, due to the continuous rise in temperature and severe humidity, there were complaints of children falling ill in schools. In many areas, cases of children falling due to dizziness and dehydration (lack of water) had increased. There were continuous demands from the parents’ association and doctors to close the school or change the timings. Seeing the seriousness of the situation, the District Magistrate, using his special powers, has declared holiday with immediate effect till June 30 to save the children from this deadly heat.

Rules will be applicable on schools of all boards, strict action will be taken if orders are not followed

This order issued by the district administration is not for any particular board, rather it will be equally applicable to CBSE, ICSE, UP Board and all other recognized private and government schools operating in the district. It has been clarified in the order that if any school operator is found opening a school for children up to class 8th during this period, his license will be canceled as well as strict legal and punitive action will be taken under the Epidemic Act and other administrative sections.

Change in timings for larger classes, option for online studies opened

While the administration has imposed a complete lockdown for children up to class 8th, it has also issued special guidelines for older students from class 9th to 12th. If it is very important to conduct these classes, they can be opened only in the morning shift and children will have to be dismissed before the scorching heat of the afternoon. Along with this, many schools have once again chosen the option of online classes so that children’s education is not harmed so that children can continue their studies while staying in the safe environment of home.
