In the alleged misleading advertisement case of Patanjali Ayurved going on in the Supreme Court, the company has now apologized for its mistake. Patanjali Ayurveda and its MD Acharya Balkrishna have apologized unconditionally to the Supreme Court for the misleading advertisement. In this apology, a promise has been made not to air the advertisement again. Acharya Balkrishna says that the company's media department was not aware of the Supreme Court order. He says its aim was to encourage citizens to lead a healthy life by consuming Patanjali products.
The court has asked Swami Ramdev (co-founder of Patanjali) and Patanjali MD Acharya Balkrishna to appear in the court on April 2 in the misleading medicine advertisement case of Patanjali Ayurveda. The company and Acharya Balkrishna did not file a reply to the notice, due to which this order had to be issued. Now he may have to appear in court on the next date.
During the hearing held on March 19, the court had issued a notice asking why defamation proceedings should not be initiated against him. The bench of Justice Hima Kohli and Ahsanuddin Amanullah is hearing this case. Earlier, the hearing of this case was held on 27 February.
Let us tell you that during the hearing held on 27th February, the court had banned the advertisements of misleading medicines of Patanjali Ayurveda. Apart from this, a show cause notice was issued while taking defamation action. In fact, last year the court had directed it not to issue misleading advertisements, but the company allegedly ignored it.
