
Mumbai-A local court has issued a non-bailable warrant against former New India Cooperative Bank President Hiren Bhanu and his wife Gauri Bhanu, who had left the country before the Rs 122 crore scam that surfaced last month.
The Economic Offenses Branch of the police has arrested seven people in this case. The Bhanu couple left the country on 26 January and 10 February respectively. The blue corner notice was issued to detect both. After the application of the Economic Offenses Branch, the court has issued a non-bailable warrant against him. The accused in the case, Unattan Arunachalam was arrested from Bihar.
According to the police, Rs 10 lakh. A embezzlement of Rs 122 crore was done from the chests of the bank’s Prabhadevi and Goregaon offices. Six more arrests were made after the arrest of former General Manager and Accounts Head of the bank Hitesh Mehta on 15 February. Mehta had a polygraph test last week. In which Mehta’s reply has been expected to cheat. Further investigation of the case is going on.
