Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh took oath as Rajya Sabha member for the second time on Tuesday. Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar administered the oath to Sanjay Singh as a Rajya Sabha member. Aam Aadmi Party's Rajya Sabha member ND Gupta was also present on this occasion. Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court allowed Sanjay Singh to be taken to Parliament for the oath taking ceremony. His wife has expressed happiness at the swearing-in ceremony.
Reacting to Sanjay Singh becoming a Rajya Sabha member for the second time, his wife Anita Singh has expressed happiness. He said, “This is a happy day for us. Finally Sanjay Singh will take oath. He will definitely fulfill all the responsibilities given by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh, accused in the Delhi Excise Policy case, was allowed by the jail administration to appear in Parliament on March 19 to take oath as a Rajya Sabha member. Singh has recently been elected to the Rajya Sabha for the second time. Despite being elected, Sanjay Singh could not take oath because his case was pending in the Privileges Committee.
Special judge MK Nagpal, in the March 16 order, also directed Tihar jail authorities to take the accused to Parliament under adequate security and not allow him to use his phone or talk to other accused. On this occasion, the court allowed his lawyer and family members to meet him.
