The political dispute between Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and BJP regarding Delhi’s Mahila Samman Yojana is deepening. Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena has ordered an investigation into this scheme. In this regard, he has written a letter to the Chief Secretary, Divisional Commissioner and Police. Reacting to this move, AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal launched a scathing attack on the BJP.
Kejriwal’s allegations against BJP
Arvind Kejriwal termed the Lieutenant Governor’s decision as “panic” of the BJP. He said, “We had promised before the elections that we would give ₹2100 per month to women and free treatment to elderly people above 60 years of age. These schemes are so beneficial for the public that lakhs of people have registered. BJP is scared of this.”
He also said that BJP first attacked the registration camps, then got them closed through the police and now has ordered a fake investigation.
“BJP’s aim is to stop everything”
Kejriwal launched a scathing attack on BJP and said, “BJP is fighting the Delhi elections not to do anything for the people of Delhi, but to stop everything. BJP does not want the welfare of women and the elderly. They intend to stop Mahila Samman Yojana, Sanjeevani Yojana for the elderly, free electricity, free water, mohalla clinics, and excellent education in government schools.”
“An attempt to snatch everything from the people of Delhi”
Kejriwal claimed that BJP wants to snatch away all the facilities received so far from the people of Delhi. He said, “If you vote for BJP by mistake, Delhi will become unliveable. BJP has made it clear that they will stop free electricity, water, treatment, Mahila Samman Yojana and education in government schools.
Kejriwal’s appeal to the public
The Chief Minister of Delhi appealed to the public to maintain faith. He said, “In the last few years, I provided free electricity and water, built mohalla clinics and improved government schools. BJP tried to stop all these schemes, but I fought for the people.
He assured that Mahila Samman Yojana of ₹ 2100 will also be implemented. “Your trust is my strength. I have fulfilled my promises before and will do so this time too,” Kejriwal said.
Target on BJP: “Why the problem with women’s welfare?”
Kejriwal questioned BJP, “Under which section the action is being taken? Is this country only the property of BJP? Why is BJP so concerned about the welfare of women and the elderly?”
